Morning Light
Morning Light is just the start of a new beginning. When we first meet these children the only future they have is one of ill health and poverty. It is the children we visit in the slums who now attend our schools. We aim to change the lives of as many of these children as possible; with the ultimate goal being to see them achieve registration in the local state school.
We provide open air lessons in basic literacy to children and their parents. We also treat minor ailments, provide clothing and shoes and buy fruit, eggs and milk to assist with the children's nutritional needs. Some of these rural slums are located only a mile or so inland from Goa's golden beaches – the beautiful coastline which attracts over a million visitors a year.
Our aim is to roll the Morning Light programme out to more children whilst still retaining the quality of support and service. To do this we need to secure constant funding and resources (medical supplies, food, books and workforce) so that we can act and react as appropriate. Please see the Needs List and Gifts in Kind pages for details of the items which will help us to continue our work and make such a huge difference to the lives of India's poor.

Been coming here for 2 years first impression is that kid's look 100% better compare to last year. Washing, general hygiene is very efficient. Doc is as usual his very caring and understanding self score 110 %. School is great these kids get so much out of it. May be by doing this we can give them some idea that the world is bigger than their village and give them a vision and hope for a future

I found Ian and Diego on Friday before on the beach at Baga and was encouraged by their enthusiasm about Educators Trust I arrived not having any idea of what the day would bring everyone on the team were full of energy. We were told the place for the day I was surprised at the shacks but the greeting from both adults and children other helpers arrived and brought medicines for these people I helped with Dr Mistry with taking details for him after his examination of new children ( 1 week prior there were 19 children today there were 37 children) I have had a wonderful experience and only wish I could do more to help but when I come again to Goa I will certainly come to help Ian and his wonderful team.
